Okay ladies,

The old phrase ‘you are what you eat. ‘ SO TRUE! I am a small meal eater. I will have breakfast or a protein shake. Lunch, nothing too heavy. Sandwich, salad, soup. Dinner, mostly protein with a salad. I drink a tonne of water. I next to never drink carbonated drinks. They are just NOT good for you. Anything that you can drop a nail into and will dissolve the nail (proven scientifically) clearly should not be allowed anywhere near or inside of your body! Whole wheat grains, lots of fruits and veggies, fish and the occasional glass of red wine are all great starting places.

Whole-pasta provides an entire day’s worth of whole grains; its fiber fights heart colon cancer, diabetes, ulcers and stroke. Plus it has more vitamin E, B6, magnesium, zinc and potassium than regular pasta.

Blood clots cause most heart attacks and strokes, and the flavonoids in onions help stop clots from forming. Cooked tomatoes are the richest source of lycopene, a compound that may help prevent heart disease and reduce prostate cancer risks.

One serving of fish a week can halve your risk of a sudden fatal heart attack. And salmon has more heart-protecting omega-3 fatty acids than almost any other fish. A 3-ounce serving contains 10 times the dietary intake of the average American.

A glass (or, at most, two) of red wine a day will supply blood-clot-stopping flavonoids to your meal. Be careful not to get dehydrated! Drink a glass of water for every glass of wine.

Remember to be flashy not trashy!
Best regards from your Diva Mom at 40

  3. I tried fish oil and it really helped with those fatty acids. The problem was that it made my stomach upset….

  4. Dr Sears’ thoughts…
In The Omega Zone Dr Sears lists and addresses seven “potential side effects of high dose fish oil.” He claims he hasn’t seen any of these effects in patients on high doses in his own trials over three years.

The contaminants are more concerning. Gastric problems such as gas, abdominal pain, and diarrhea are more common. The accumulation of toxic impurities is also a possibility. But as contaminant levels vary in different grades of fish oil we can minimize our risk by choosing the cleaner varieties.
And please remember that such contaminants are not limited to fish oil supplements. They’re also found in whole fish, meat, eggs, and milk among others.

  5. Glorious blog engine blog! Maintain it up!

  6. By helping more efficient elimination, whole-grain fiber almost certainly prevents frequent constipation if consumed along with ample quantitiesof water. The fiber and the water retains induce a larger, softer stool which digestive system may eject quickly and without difficulty.Obviously, nobody gives apt importance to fiber, unfortunately. Nice article, by the way.
